Hi there! It’s Wednesday, and I am finally counting down my work days at my current job! Yes, after 3 and a half years, I finally gave my resignation.
I have accepted an offer I just couldn’t refuse… semi-part time and only 8 miles from home. My current workplace is 30 miles, one way, so you could imagine how much nicer my mornings are going to be. I will be staying in the healthcare industry, which is most likely going to make my transition fairly easy. I’m looking forward to a better quality of life. More time with my babies and less time in my car. I am also SUPER excited to have a weekday off! I have so many plans of things I would love to do with the babies.. a music class, my little gym, maybe even play dates with my future mom friends!
I’m surprised with how easy this decision was for me to make. I am NOT a person that likes change. I love my current job; I have a wonderful boss and have made so many amazing friends, but the traveling has become increasingly difficult for me, not to mention very expensive. I know that I am doing what’s best for me and my family and I am very much looking forward to this new adventure!
In other news, the babies are becoming so expressive and even more mobile, if that’s even possible. Days with them are VERY exhausting. They need to be entertained AT ALL TIMES, which is super tough. They absolutely LOVE being outdoors so we try to bring them out every chance we get.
They are also quite the picky eaters lately and will not only enjoy a handful of things; waffles, pancakes, fruit, grilled cheese, breaded chicken or turkey patties, pasta with sauce, meatballs, and mac n’ cheese make up about 90% of their diet lately. I also still give them those fruit and veggie pouches since they are quick, easy and mess-free. Plum Organics is my favorite (and theirs).
Thomas is now tall enough to get his leg up onto the couch and has figured out how to escape their play yard…
Clearly, he thinks it’s funny.. I, obviously, do not. This means we really CANNOT walk away from them. Tommy is still working on gate options, so until then we must watch these guys like hawks.
Skyler has been chatting up a storm lately! They’re not actual words yet, but in her mind she is most certainly having a conversation! We get a kick out of it every day. She really has the most amazing personality and sense of humor and will do anything to get a smile or laugh out of you.
They have both been sleeping pretty well, with a few hiccups through the night here and there. We typically just let them cry it out because once we bring them into bed with us, they assume it’s playtime. Bed time is still 7:00pm and we are going strong with that. Wake up time is around 5:45am during the week and 6, 6:15am on the weekends.
I snapped this pic of my sweet girl one morning and I just love looking at it. 🙂
All in all, life has been a little crazy and the days just seem to fly by, but I am loving this stage in their lives. They are absorbing so much and are starting to really understand what we are saying and doing around them. I like taking them out now since they have the walking thing down pat. It’s so much easier when they can run around and let their energy out. We went to my cousins baby shower this past weekend and we had a great time. It was four hours long and they did not get too cranky until the last 30 minutes.
I don’t typically like to talk Religion in such a public space mostly because I don’t consider myself a VERY religious person, but I do need to point out that God is just so good. I truly believe when things are meant to happen, He will make them happen. Take it from me. Trust in Him and have patience. This job opportunity came at the perfect time for me, after months and months of praying and wishing and hoping. When things are meant to happen, they do. It’s going to be a huge life changer and I believe it will bring me even greater opportunities in my future!
