As I quickly approach my babies’ first birthday, I thought it would be great to share some of my favorite baby items from this past year. Many of these items I added when I created my registry and others I bought and grew to love along the way. I’m sure there are some things that I am forgetting, since forgetfulness is a huge part of my life these days 🙁 , but these are the things that stick out the most to me!
I think EVERY new momma needs this.. or something like it. This is a complete life saver when you want to go out with your little one and you’re not 100% sure you’re going to have a hot water source to heat a bottle. All you need to do is boil water, put it into the thermos and it’ll stay hot for several hours. It’s so easy and convenient!
I use this every single day. It’s much easier than the traditional way of sterilizing bottles and it’s super fast. I always wash my bottles with soap and water first, throw them in this sterilizer and microwave for only 4 minutes. The babies are still going through around 5 bottles a day each, so this has made the bottle cleaning situation extremely easy for me.
While I’m sure there are not many differences in baby bath tubs, this is the one I received for my babies and I am still getting great use out of it. I used the green infant attachment up until the babies become very mobile. Now I sit them up in the white bath tub and fill it up with water for them to play. They love it!
I absolutely love this diaper caddy. I originally had it in the babies bedroom on the dresser next to the changing pad. Now that I am not changing diapers all night anymore, I moved it to my changing table downstairs in the living area and am using it for extra organizing. Not only is it super cute, but it’s very functional!
This is the diaper pail I received and I love it. I keep this in the babies bedroom and while I am not changing diapers during the night anymore, I continue to use it as a regular garbage pail. It does a great job of keeping the room smelling perfectly fine, even when it has dirty diapers in it!
I cannot say enough great things about this jumperoo. While the babies are growing out of it now, they still don’t mind being in them for a short amount of time when I need to be in another room for a few minutes. I’m so happy I decided on getting two of them when I was making my registry. They play fun music and have great attachments on them.
I know this is a pretty high ticket item, but if you can find it discounted or lightly used, I highly recommend it. I’ve been using this stroller since my kiddies were born since it has the capability of attaching their car seats to it. You do need to purchase this car seat adapter in order to accommodate the car seat, but if you are going to be going out of the house a lot with your little one, it’s totally worth it. It’s a real heavy duty stroller so I can’t imagine anything going wrong with either. We love it!
When I was creating my registry, I went back and forth with the idea of a changing table in the living area of my house. I am so glad I decided to go for it and I almost can’t believe I was thinking of NOT having one there. I literally use it every single day for changing the babies. I use the shelves on the bottom for their diapers, wipes, blankets, formula, and other miscellaneous items. This changing table is perfect and very modern looking which makes it not seem so much of an eye sore in our home.
We purchased this machine when Skyler was having a hard time being in her crib at night and it ended up being a huge game changer at bedtime. We really only use one sound (waves) and the babies seem to be very soothed by it. Several weeks ago we started putting the babies down for naps in their cribs awake, with the machine on, and it really helps them calm and fall asleep. I HIGHLY recommend some sort of sound/noise machine for your little one!
